TNC (v) - TNC (v) Coupler - 75 Ohm
This coupler can be used to couple two TNC male connectors.
The TNC connector is a screwable version of the BNC connector designed in the 1950s. The connector usually has a 50 Ohm impedance, but can (rarely) also be found as a 75 Ohm connector. The TNC connector works best on 0-11 GHz applications and outperforms the BNC connector on microwave frequencies.
Reverse Polarity TNC Connectors
In addition to standard TNC connectors, there are also reverse polarity TNC connectors (Reverse Polarity TNC). This is a variation of the TNC connector where the inner pin changes gender. TNC connectors are not compatible with RP-TNC connectors, but adapters are available that can realize this conversion. An (RP-)TNC connection can also often be found on Wi-Fi (modem) routers with a detachable antenna.
In total there are 4 types of TNC connectors:
TNC male (pin on the inside, thread is on the inside)
TNC female (pin entry on the inside, thread is on the outside)
RP-TNC male (pin input on the inside, thread is on the inside)
RP-TNC female (pin on the inside, thread is on the outside)
